Coral Springs was the company’s first venture when in 2004 it acquired a 10 acre site on the western edge of Witney, Oxfordshire. The site had an existing planning permission for 57,050 sq ft of offices and  16,575 sq ft of amenity building which was an unmarketable product.

A detailed study of alternative land use solutions was undertaken, which identified a Care Village use as being the most suitable due to strong demand from operators, clear demographic trends and low traffic generation. Richmond Care Villages was selected as partners to take the scheme though the planning process and planning commission was granted for a 125,000 sq ft development.

The Directors sensitively handled the relocation of the elderly sitting tenant on the site to a new house and resolved the complex highways issues that had been thought to require third party land for access.

Richmond Care Villages have recently started construction work and completion is anticipated in late 2015, early 2016.
